Dr. Huifang Xian

Huifang Xian completed her PhD from Sun Yat-sen university in 2018. Then she joined Zhang's research group at Institute of Pediatrics, Guangzhou. Huifang Xian completed her PhD training from the Sun Yat-sen university in 2018, after which she joined the Zhang Laboratory at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center. During her PhD training, she has discovered that type I IFN signaling can be tuned through multi-step RIG-I ubiquitination, which shed light on novel antiviral innate immune signaling. She now studies how pathogenic mutations affect the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in children.
